I received a Flippin Frogs board game to review from Peaceable Kingdom. We received the game today, and Alex couldn’t wait to play. Unfortunately, she was stuck with just me to play with, and I’m a skilled frog flipper. She didn’t have a chance against me!
We unpacked the game, and quickly skimmed th easy to understand instructions (even for a parent). 
There are 2 versions of the game, the first is easier than the second. Alex was in the age group for the second version, but being a beginner frog flipper, she wanted to start off with the first one. You set up the game pieces on your board however you want, but face down. Each of the different pieces has a number or “go again” on them. For this version, you want the words or number to be not seen. The game comes with 4 see saw type flippers, and several frogs colored to match the flippers. The object is to flip your frog onto one of the pieces on the board (notice Alex’s frog is in the air by her forehead). Whatever piece it lands on, you keep. Whoever has the most pieces at the end, wins. It looks simple enough, but unless you’ve flipped frogs before, it’s a challenge.
The second version is set up the same way, but with the game pieces face up, with the numbers and words showing. You can only capture a game piece by going in numeric order. More challenging than the first, but more fun.
We were surprised at how challenging it was at first, but we got the hang of it. Who knew that flippin frogs could be so much fun? The suggested age group starts at 4 years old, Alex is 10 and she was inside the suggested age group for the second version. I’m –, and loved both versions.
