Just a Review & Giveaway: Don’t Let The Distractions Distract You From The Fun Playing Distraction

The game mavens at ThinkFun have done it again, this time with Distraction. When I was offered the chance to review Distraction, I figured, it’s a kids game, how hard could it be? One of my readers will find out how fun losing to your kid can be when they win a Distraction game for themselves.

ThinkFun was founded with a dream that we could change the world through play, and at 25 years young, we are living that dream.  Today, ThinkFun is a respected global company represented in over 60 countries and translated into over 20 languages.  We’re thrilled to welcome you into the ThinkFun family and hope you’ll join us in new adventures!

Strengthen your memory with this laugh-out-loud card game! Players take turns drawing number cards and remembering a growing sequence of digits. Draw a Distraction card and you must answer a quirky question before reciting the numbers in order! Get caught repeating the sequence incorrectly and collect the cards – the first player to run out of cards wins. Distraction is the perfect way for anyone young or old to improve memory through loads of laughter and fun.

Features:

* 1 Deck of 54 Round Number Cards

* 1 Deck of 50 Rectangular Distraction Cards with 100 Distraction Questions

So how do you play? Not very well, actually. But my Daughter Alex and her friend had a blast playing. Be prepared, they are a little bit silly, they are 11 after all.

It looks easy, but it’s very challenging. The more you play, the easier it gets, I guess your brain cells get motivated or something. The whole key is to be able to avoid the distraction. If you draw a distraction card, you have to read the question (usually a silly one), and then answer it. Meanwhile, the number sequence you are supposed to remember, has disappeared into thin air.

The game builds memory skills obviously, and also teaches sequencing. It’s a fun family night game, with no set-up time, and easy to put away, which is important when you lose at our house. Last year, I wrote a review on their Swish game: Just A Review & Giveaway: ThinkFun & Say “Swish”!, which is another fun game from ThinkFun!

You can buy any of the ThinkFun games here, and for a limited time, enjoy free shipping with a $25 U.S. order.

After you go shopping for games, you can try to win a Distraction game of your own. Follow the directions on the RaffleCopter form to avoid having your entries deleted. The winner will have 48 hours to reply to the email sent to them, or another winner will be selected.
