Just A Review & Giveaway: Walk Your Dog With Style From The Dog Collar Boutique 4/21- 5/11

I wrote this review a few months ago, and the top dogs at the Dog Collar Boutique have decided to offer a Giveaway as well! 2 winners will each receive a $15 gift code to spend on the Dog Collar Boutique website! Here is my review of their website:

Planning a trip to Beverly Hills with your Grand Champion Giant Poodle? Or maybe just walking your mutt down to the corner beef jerky joint? Either way, Dog Collar Boutique has the gear every dog needs.

Dog Collar Boutique allowed me to pick a leash and collar for this review, but Gypsy balked at the $150 Swarovski crystals Haute Couture collars. She didn’t want to show off too much. She did select a very nice leash & collar from the 60′s & 70′s line, a fun and exciting line featuring some of our most loved designs! This collar features vibrant colors and fun designs. This collar is made of 100% dye-sublimated durable polyester, colorfast and machine washable. The designs are printed with a special heat transfer process onto a heavy braid. Made in the USA.

Gypsy loves shopping for goods made in the USA. She’s very patriotic, and she loves looking groovy when she wears her new collar and leash.

Measuring your dog for a collar

A good fit is very important to ensure the collar is snug enough to keep from slipping over your dog’s ears, yet loose enough to be comfortable. A good fitting collar will not be the exact size of your dog’s neck. This is too tight. It should be snug but not choke.

To measure your dog, use a soft measuring tape, such as a seamstress’s cloth tape measure. You may also use a piece of string, simply measure it after. Make sure your dog is standing. Measure snugly around your dog’s neck where the collar would sit. Then add from one to two inches; one inch for a small dog and two inches for a large dog. This is the collar size for your dog. For a correctly fitted collar, you should be able to slip two fingers, flat, in between the tape and neck. For a very small dog, it may be one finger and for a much larger dog, three fingers.

This technique will match the size of the collar when the collar is measured from the buckle to the last hole (the largest fit). Since some manufacturers size collars differently, see the manufacturer-specific Size Guide link on the collar product page you are considering purchasing, just above the size selector.

Gypsy agreed to 1 picture for this review, but refused to pose for it. But she really does enjoy the collar. My Daughter likes the leash because of the comfortable handle, that doesn’t hurt when Gypsy pulls too hard. I like the prices on the website. You can find everything from a basic $8 collar, to the $150 collars mentioned earlier. The website is very easy to use, and especially helpful. There are tips throughout the site, especially helpful for a first time dog owner.

Even your little angel can sometimes be “bad to the bone.” Handcrafted in the U.S.A. of .925 sterling silver, this guitar pick tag is finished with steel tempered split rings and polished to a brilliant shine. This ID tag includes engraving.

This dog tag is also great for human wear. (Add a birthday instead of a phone number)
